I've had tropical aquarium fish for more than half my life, now. They've provided a sense of stability and tranquility as I've moved from apartment to apartment, school to school, and job to job. Whenever I've felt stress or loneliness, I would simply sit in front of my fish tank and gaze at the various fish, with their individual colors, movements, and personalities. I would always find comfort in the soothing bubbling of the air filter, too. Over the years, I've had multitudes of species of fish in my tank, which has prevented my becoming bored with the whole idea of an aquarium, often assumed by others. Speaking of others, its always a thrill to meet other aquarists who can share in the stories of having an aquarium at home.
