I am a first-time pet owner and, in the beginning, I was skeptical about having a kitten. However, it only took about a week to fall in love with her. I love the way she climbs up my pant-leg when I get home from work, the way she crawls under the covers to find me in the morning, and the way she runs laps in my apartment when she is excited. I know a lot of people think of their pet as a companion, but I see my kitten more as something to care for. I like feeding her and taking her into my yard to play. I guess I like caring for her so much because she gives so much love and affection in return.
